Hello there!

Well Summer is underway and we have been non-stop!  Swim lessons are going on and just getting into a daily routine is going well do far.  Alyson's graduation went well and only cried a couple tears - sigh - she is getting so big!  IT makes me happy and sad at the same time.  I am SO THANKFUL that she is growing into such a beautiful girl and is so darn smart.  But the other part of me can't believe that she is growing so fast and is truly NOT a baby anymore.  sniff-sniff.  Because she is my only child I want to celebrate each moment in her life and thought that a Kinder graduation party was in order.  Nothing big just grandmas were invited and my sister.  I also wanted it to be a surprise.  It is so hard for me to keep anything from her - so this was big on my part - hehe.

I decided to do and ice cream party.  Alyson loves ice cream and it was simple enough to put together.  I got everything either from the dollar store or from Michael's, where it was on clearance.  I made her a little banner that said, 'Kinder*Grad'.  I also used some clearance cupcake wrappers that said 'Congrats Grad' and sewed them together to make a garland - so fast and easy.

I took photos - but really couldn't get any great ones - my settings were off but I managed to save some of them.

I put her Kinder photo up as well as her end of year portfolio so the grandparents could look through.

To make things a little more theme-y I rolled the tops of the ice cream cones in chocolate and then topped them off with the cute grad sprinkles.

The sugar cones just had chocolate.

The Sprinkles were in cute cap containers.

Cherries are Alyson's favorite:)
I have to say that it was all planned well and Mike took Alyson to watch ToyStory 3 and they were heading over after.  Well Mike calls me right before and lets me know that Alyson was in tears because about a week earlier she got her American Girl twins taken away for disobeying me more than once (that wasn't the only toy - it was a tough night).  Well I still hadn't given them back to her and after watching the movie she realized that toys that were thrown away (which I dramatically did and then took them out) and they had shown in the movie how they get burned and destroyed - so she made the connection with the dolls she had not received yet.  So I talked to her on the phone and pulled the dolls out of the garage and told her all was good. Whew - seriously - so tramatic!!  And when she walked in she was indeed surprised!

Then she got busy making her Sundae.

I got the cute little ice cream dishes from the dollar tree.
She loved it - it was nothing big but a little something to celebrate her finishing her first year of education.  And I made sure to let her know that this doesn't happen after every year - LOL!

Aunt Melissa and Uncle Steve

Grandma Sandra - Grandma Penny couldn't make it - she was very sad.

With daddy - look how hard she is squeezing him - LOL!
And I had one taken of the 2 of us at the table but it didn't turn out - so I have this one of us that is a little better of us on the couch realxing.

We had a great time and I am glad I did it for her.

I will hopefully be back to regularly scheduled blogging - I do have some fun things planned and things that I think you will like:)

I will see you soon!
