Ok so activity #2 was all about magnets. This one was really easy and she really enjoyed it. I grabbed a brown lunch bag and grabbed things from our junk drawer. I grabbed things that I knew would be magnetic and those that weren't as well. When I had the bag about halfway full I grabbed a couple strong magnets off the fridge for us to use.
I first taught her about positive and negative sides to a magnet and how when 2 positives are put together they tend to want to resisit each other. She loved this part because you could feel the resistance.
I then allowed her to pull something out of the bag (without looking). This was part of the fun for her as well. Some items she laughed at - like the rock - but others she was curious.
Before long she was making predictions on what was magnetic and what wasn't. I was writing them down and if she got her prediction correct I would put a happy face and sad face if it was wrong.
When we finished everything that was in the bag - I had her put everything into categories, magnetic, non-magnetic, and both(some things had parts that were and were not magnetic.).
This one is just because she is my pretty girl and I can't believe how big she is getting!
And then here she is fillingout her orange form...
So this activity was a good one - give it a try.
