Happy Monday to you! Another fun-filled week for us here. Starting softball - we will see how she likes that. And the 4th - too fun!
Since I am home all Summer and Alyson is not in daycare - I have to nake sure that we are busy and have fun things to do. So of course swimming, dance, and other outdoor activities are always in place. Every summer I try to have a home school curriculum for Alyson. This year is no different. We have added reading to our list (reading has always been there but now it is Alyson reading to me). And I have found many links and sites that have fun activites to do with your child. I compiled the list and have been picking and choosing what I think Alyson would like.
We started our first activity on Tuesday (she was at Disney all day on Monday). I even put together a worksheet for each day. It looks like this (each day is a different color).
I made sure to add a space that let her tell me if she liked it or not. It is always valuable to see what she likes and doesn't.
So for Activity one we were going to do crayon shavings - BUT it was too hard and it was taking forever. So I decided to do something I had seen her daycare teacher do. Get a skillet (like what you cook pancakes on) and warm it. When it is warm add the wax paper. Then using any crayons and with parent supervision, you can carefully make a design. It is really fun and easy. Alyson made about 5 pages. You can cut the designs out later and hang them up to look like stained glass.
And then if you notice on the worksheet there is a blank spot - it is for a photo of her an the activity that she has done. Her own little scrapbook.
That's all I have!

I just love you and that crafty girl of yours. :) That's all I wanted to say!
