Happy New Year! 1-1-11!

How exciting!  A brand new year!  I tell you 2010 was all about learning a new way of being a family.  A new way of being me without someone by my side.  A new way of getting things done.  A new way of realizing I can't do it all.  And I am thankful for it all.  Thankful for my family helping me.  Thankful for the fact that my ex and I get along so well and co-parent the best we can (yes, it can be done).  Thankful for the mistakes I have made so that I can work to make this year even better.

I have chosen my word for the year.  And it is...
I plan on simplifying many things in my life this year and this seemed the perfect word.  well, truth be told, I wanted to say organize, but it just didn't have the same ring to it that Simplify does.  So simplify it is.  This applies to so many aspects of my life and I can't wait to see how it unfolds.  I am not one for resolutions, so you will not see me list them.  But you surely will see how some things in my life are being "simplified" through this blog and I can't wait!

Before I leave, I want to share with you our mini New Years party last night.  Last year I let Alyson choose a new movie to watch and I got the snacks to go along with it.  So it was Camp Rock and s'mores last year.  Well this year here is what she chose.
Yes, Barbie, A Fashion Tale.  It was a perfect girlie movie for us both!  And I wanted to go with the theme and get some "sparkling" snacks, but Alyson wouldn't have it.  So s'mores it was!

Our "party" started at 8 and I was hoping it would be over by 9:30 - HA!  Alyson made it all the way till 11:30!  Good grief!   Maybe it was all the chocolate I gave her?

Which of course led to a whole bunch of this all night...
It was a fun night just the 2 of us!  Love celebrating with my crazy girl!!
Oh, did I tell you that she discovered my label maker and it is her new best friend?  If I would have known Santa could have saved a lot of money!!  Heee!

Have a wonderful day!
