A crafty weekend

Hello!  Happy Monday.  I am excited it is Monday because I am that much closer to my week off for Thanksgiving - yay!  I am so excited to post today because I did some crafty things this weekend.
Just had to post these photos of Alyson after we had lunch at her favorite place, Souplantation.
She wanted me to take one of her in this pose - hehe.  Love her.

On with blogging...

On Friday, we had no school and Alyson was off at the Happiest Place on Earth with her dad, so I was free to enjoy the day.  It felt really great to have no deadlines looming, well, let me rephrase that, I did have deadlines, but only ONE, not 5.  Seriously makes a difference.  So where did go?  Target of course. Got only the necessities and then headed home to clean.  I know exciting right?  As I was emptying the trunk and taking out the cat litter, and if you have a cat, you know how heavy those boxes are.  Well, I must have not been lifting with my legs and pulled something in my back.  It had me taking it easy for the rest of the day.  It was a sign from God that he didn't want me to clean right?  Ha!  No really, I think it was just something else to make just relax and take it easy.  So that is what I did.

On Saturday, I got crafty right away (since my back was better).  I had purchased some Thanksgiving-ish fabric that I wanted to make into a table runner.  So I did.  Nothing fancy, but it does look cute.
I just realized what a bad photo this is of the runner.  Ahh, I do much better with people.  :)  Here are a couple close-ups of the fabric.
Of course I added some ruffles.  Nothing fancy, just felt good to get some sewing done.

On Sunday, I was peeking through my Pinterest and I found a Thanksgiving banner that I loved.  I wanted to make it "last" a little longer, so I made a Happy Fall banner instead.  I love the bright colors and it will hang for at least a couple more weeks.

I also wanted to not have to "clip" up the letters, so I sewed them onto some muslin.  I love the way it came out.  I am already thinking of one for Christmas.

Alyson and I made a trip out to Michael's and bought some felt for an upcoming project I have.  I hope to share soon.  Here is what she bought.
These jumping bean things.  They got all crazy in the car and then nothing when they were on the floor.  The things they waste spend their money on.
This one I took on the way home.  My pretty girl.  She played her last soccer game of the season Saturday.  She loves soccer. And I can't tell you how happy that makes me.  We are looking into winter league - but still not sure.  Miss A is also receiving an award this afternoon.  Bummed that I can't be there ( I was out 2 days last week and will be out again this week), so Mike will be there and I can't wait to see the pictures.

Have a wonderful day!
Michelle
